Anca Iordanescu

Anca is an award-winning engineering leader with decades of tech experience building and scaling global diverse teams across both the consumer and enterprise space.

Anca is very active in programs around mentorship, diversity, and uplifting women and young girls, helping to develop the next generation of technologists and leaders. Anca speaks at various forums and panels on a wide range of informational topics such as “leadership” to DevOps, Digital Transformation. She has been recognized as top 100 Women in Tech and won Digital Transformation Leader award 2022. She is actively engaged in creatin a “Women in Tech” community in Sweden.

She is currently VP of Engineering at IKEA Retail, where she leads the engineering to create stores of the future at IKEA. By bringing in agility, simplicity, and cutting-edge technologies she is transforming Ikea into a leader furnishing retailer with aim to reach many more people with the products and services they want, whenever and wherever they want them.

Before joining IKEA, Anca has been leading IT transformations at Maersk Line, in Copenhagen, modernizing the IT landscape to enable efficiency in shipping.

Previously Anca worked 15 years in the telecom industry, at Ericsson and Sony Mobile. Holding a PhD in Computer Science and working in the emerging telecom era, she found her passion in developing and implementing the most innovative technologies that have changed people life for good.  

Prior to her joining the IT world, Anca worked as Teaching Assistant at University of Bucharest, holding courses in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer science.
